How a session works
Guests pick costumes from a rail: duster coats, vests, saloon dresses, sheriff badges, hats and bandanas. Most pieces open at the back and go on over regular clothes, so nobody needs to change. The group poses in front of a painted backdrop, framed like an 1880s portrait, and the photo prints on site.
The posing is half the fun. Nobody smiled in old portraits, so we ask for stony faces, which nobody manages for long.
What your rental includes
We deliver and set up the backdrop, lighting, costume rail and print station, run the studio for your booked hours and pack it all away. We confirm on your quote how many costumes and sizes come, how many prints each group gets and whether digital copies are available.
How it differs from a photo booth
A photo booth is fast, casual and self-run. The old time studio is slower and staffed, with real costumes and a posed result. Each group takes longer, but the prints are keepsakes rather than strips. Some events book both: the booth for the crowd and the studio for wedding parties or team photos.
Events it suits
Barn weddings, milestone birthdays, family reunions and holiday parties. Put the studio near the mechanical bull so riders can grab a photo in their cowboy gear afterward, or next to a western casino night for a saloon theme across the room.
Managing the line
- Open the studio early, before the main entertainment.
- Keep it running through dinner, when the dance floor is quiet.
- At weddings, book a slot for the wedding party first.
- Ask us how many people fit in one frame if you have big families.
Book your studio
Add old time photos to a western package or book the studio on its own. Tell us your date and guest count and get a quote.
